Many wedding guests say that food is the most important part of the wedding celebrations. In most cultures, food is often at the heart of the celebrations so it’s important for wedding venues to not only provide exceptional culinary delights, but to also cater to the individual dietary needs to each guest, ensuring a memorable and inclusive dining experience for all.
Happy guests equal a happy day for all; and everyone wants to remember the day!
At Leigh Court, we are thrilled to announce a new partnership with EPIC Caterers for our weddings from 2024 onwards. Based in Cardiff, EPIC Caterers is a chef-driven company where culinary excellence is paramount. Their commitment to delivering exceptional food is evident in every dish they create, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience for every guest.
We had a catch up with the team at EPIC to ask them some questions about our new relationship and how working together will bring an even more phenomenal service to all our events; corporate, weddings, private parties and proms.
What makes you different from other caterers?
Epic is not just a caterer, we are a team of wedding and event experts, with over 200+ years of experience across our team. We have worked, delivered and excelled across all aspects of the food and hospitality industry.
Our chef’s are the leaders within our business and their food, passion and creativity drives us all to create new, innovative ideas, working with all our clients on their visions and delivering food beyond expectations.
Why did you want to work with Leigh Court?
Leigh Court is a driven business with exemplary corporate events in Bristol as well as being a prestigious wedding venue. Your passion for event delivery, focus and flexibility are just some of the aspects that align with us at EPIC.
We want to work with venues that always meets and exceeds expectations, where perfection comes as standard with every aspect of your event planning. These aspects of event production are not found frequently!
Are there any trends in food at the moment that you’re seeing your clients ask for?
Our food is so bespoke to each and every customer that we work with because we want their vision to become a reality.
Common trends at the moment are around the need for local produce, seasonality, and sustainability. Wedding couples and clients are more interested in how the menus are curated, what happens to food waste, and how they can help reduce this.
We work with wedding couples to find the sweet spot for catering, to ensure there is sufficient food for everyone but to reduce waste. Some of our wedding couples are looking to use their wedding cake as dessert and come away from a plated dessert, or not have a cake and choose a dessert table or cheese stack instead.
How do you cater for dietary requirements?
At Epic we feel that dietary requirements should be cared for carefully, and the quality of their food should be the same level as for all our guests. We want to ensure that all guests have fond memories of our food they can talk about to their loved ones for years to come. We push the boundaries of food delivery to meet every guest’s requirements. Throughout our menus we have already made conscious changes, using vegan butter in our mashed potato and gluten free pastry for our tarts, as these products are unrecognisable to that of 10 years ago.
When it comes to wedding catering, do the couple try their menu before their wedding?
All our couples are invited to a tasting event, whether this be at their venue or at one of our head offices. We can find a date, time and location that suits to ensure you can taste just how spectacular your food will be.
Other than weddings, what other events do you cater for?
We are not just wedding caterers, ourselves, and our sister brand, Cleverchefs operate in a variety of different food and drink capacities. From pop up street food, school catering, corporate dinners, canape parties, launch parties, team building days, office lunches, film shoot catering, christening, wakes, pretty much most aspects of food and drinks catering we can provide.
If this is piquing your taste buds, and you would like Epic creating the food at your next Leigh Court event, get in touch!
