Leigh Court is home to all kinds of events; wedding parties, corporate events and private gatherings. The mansion is an impressive Palladian house that sits on a 25 acre estate on the edge of Leigh Woods, so many of our clients love to use us, not just for the grandeur of the house, but for the surrounding environment. We’re only a few miles from Bristol city centre, but you’ll feel like you’re deep in the countryside with our surroundings!
Last Autumn, we welcomed the Clifton Classic Car Rally to our venue; creating the perfect atmosphere for classic car enthusiasts to mingle.
We interviewed Richard Davis, who helps run the event to see why he enjoys working with us and how Leigh Court is a preferred venue.
Hi Richard, can you tell us what kind of an event Clifton Classic Car Rally is?
It’s a social gathering, an opportunity for people who share a passion for classic cars to get together and show them off.
The original idea of the Clifton Classic Car Rally was to get a small group of like-minded classic car owners together for a run around Somerset and end with a nice lunch!
We started the Rally in 2021 and were delighted to recruit over 30 cars for the first Clifton Classic Car Rally. Chris Harris from Top Gear waved us off and the Clifton Classic Car Rally was born.
And why is Leigh Court perfect for this?
We need a venue that is close to Clifton, that also has plenty of space for the cars. Clifton doesn’t have too many venues that can offer this, so Leigh Court is perfect, being just over the Suspension Bridge.
Creating an event with Classic Car enthusiasts also means that we need amiable surroundings, and somewhere that produces excellent breakfast and lunch.
Is there a particular reason why you use Leigh Court?
The team that we work with are friendly, welcoming and supportive, which makes it really easy for us to put on the event. When all the fuss is taken away from us, it makes it a much more enjoyable experience.
Would you recommend Leigh Court to anyone else looking for event space?
Yes absolutely, it’s a fantastic venue with excellent customer service and beautiful surrounds.
What do the owners of the classic cars say about Leigh Court?
They love the venue, the grandeur and space. They do hate the speedbumps with a passion, though, as they are too violent for the old cars! But we get by as you can’t avoid speedbumps these days.
What’s your favourite feature about the house?
The classical portico set in the parkland is very special.
